This year, I’m Believing in Wishes

Wishes give me a giddy feeling. Much like a child, kicking through a field of dandelions, I think wish and I think of rainbows and giggling and having the best and most creative experience in the moment. When I hear the word goal, I think, oh wow, professional woman in a suit typing away thoughts based on the acronym SMART (Specific, Measurable, Action, Realist, Time based) goals. Hmmm…

I do love to wear suits, don’t get me wrong and I do love to fix my hair pretty and look nice, but this year, I’m going in the direction of my heart strings. I’m going for braids, and colors, and all the things that gave me energy as a child. I won’t forget my adult terminology and the power of acting on our wishes and goals, but wish just sounds so much more fun, so wishes it is and here is my list.

This year, I wish …

… for good health for my family and my friends, and especially my dad …

… for an awesome Kindergarten year for my son so he becomes excited about returning in the fall …

…for a growing vocabulary for my daughter so she continues to express herself well and will channel some of the body expressions to full on sentences 😉 …

…to keep up my faith in my writing and finish my novel and maybe even start a second one …

… to finally master that Yoga head and maybe handstand I keep meaning to do …

… to remember how much I love the outdoors, finding an incredible source of inspiration out there in watching the clouds, the sunsets and sunrises, climbing trees, and to go there at any and all opportunities …

And to continue to work on being a better version of myself. To remember I’m growing and changing and sometimes I can’t control what happens, but I can make the best in each one.

So that’s it, my wish list for 2014.

May all of your wishes come true. :0)
