|Meet Emi Gayle|
Dreaming isn’t easy. Acting on your dreams is more difficult than I ever realized. Now that I’m really taking my dreams seriously, becoming published shortly, I’m tapping into other dreamers I’ve met who push, challenge, and wake up every day, already living their dreams.
Meet Emi Gayle, a fellow author with J Taylor Publishing, a Young Adult author already living her dream. She’s human like the rest of us, wanting to be young again, “at least on paper,” with some great words on dreaming and the reality of dreaming.
First of all, Why would I want to be a teenager again?
Geez. Because! If you met the man of your dreams at 14 was engaged to him at 19 and married him at 20, wouldn’t YOU want to do all that over again? Especially if you were still in love with him? I mean, c’mon! It’s love! That’s why I write, too. You see… just because you pass a certain age doesn’t mean you forget what it was like to be 14, 15, etc. Actually, because I kinda grew up with my husband, we both still feel like the 14 and 17 year old kids we once were. So that’s where I’m coming from. You might think it’s totally lame, but you know what? That’s ok! Maybe you’ll like my other me instead.
So for me, going Indie Publisher is a way to have the best of many worlds. I have a lot of control but I have someone looking over my shoulder. I have the support of many, but have a lot to do myself. I have to writer better to get a spot in the roster, but at the same time, get to be true to my stories, my way.
The downside is smaller distribution (my books aren’t picked up by bookstores to store on shelves unless I go and ask them to put some there), but the upside is that my books are everywhere on the Internet that other books are and I do have my books out there!
So for me, Indie-publisher is the way to go. Best of both worlds and as book two in my 19th year trilogy gets underway, I can say hurray, because it’s exactly what I wanted out of my writing – to share it with others. Period.
I’ve done exactly what I wanted!
