How To Be Amazing
Looking amazing and feeling amazing are two separate but complimentary descriptions.
One day I was driving on the highway heading to work. A car rear ended me in bumper to bumper traffic. At the time I was a corporate trainer and I had a class scheduled first thing on a monday morning: Crucial Confrontations. Talk about practical application! I could have done any number of things when I opened my door and got out of my car. I could have yelled, “Hey, what the hell man! Open your eyes!” Or, I could have taken at least ten deep breaths and said, “We all have bad days. Let’s just figure this out as quickly as we can.”
The difference? One assumes the other person meant to hurt you. The other assumes we’re all human here. We all screw up. And yes, I have instigated a fender bender or two and I know, it wasn’t because I meant to do it. I simply wasn’t paying attention any more than the guy right behind me on the highway, that very second.
So again, in that moment, what do you want? Watch for the the signals and be the person you want to be. Because eventually, the way you act will catch up with the way you feel, which is my last point for today.
LASTLY: Once you’ve decided what you want, act and do the things to get you there.
So what makes you feel good? I’d love to hear it.
